FAQs

Is Avocado And Egg On Toast Healthy?

Definitely! It will, of course, depend on your eating plan, but for general nutrition, yes, it’s healthy. The most important part of keeping this healthy is to use whole-grain bread without any added sugar. Once you have that, the avocado and egg are perfectly healthy as long as you don’t have any allergies or sensitivities to them.

Can I Eat Avocado Toast With Egg Every Day?

You can. I would keep it in moderation, though. Take your calorie count into consideration for this. Beyond that, there’s no reason not to enjoy this avocado egg toast regularly.

Is Avocado Toast Healthy For Weight Loss?

It can be if you use it properly. You must count the calories and fat grams and incorporate that into your weight loss plan as you would with any food.

Avocado Toast With Egg Calories

If you are tracking your calories, this egg avocado toast makes for a reasonable breakfast, depending on your calorie needs. Keep in mind that these calories are for both pieces of bread. You can easily cut this recipe in half to lower the calories or fat content.

Can I Use Prepared Guacamole?

If you don’t mind the flavors of guacamole on your toast, sure! Go for it! But I find that flavor-wise, it’s often better to use plain avocado mash if you add other toppings.

Preparing Your Avocado Toast For Eggs

So this may seem silly, but it’s worth mentioning. The flavor of your avocado toast will be much better if you first make basic avocado toast. What does that mean? It means you must smash the avocado onto the toast and then season it with salt and pepper. Do this before adding the egg. You are literally seasoning your avocado toast in layers.

How To Make Your Eggs For Avocado Toast With Egg

For avocado toast, you can make your eggs any way you like. Here are the ways I have tried, and they all worked out great. The only thing I didn’t do was poached eggs because I’m really bad at making them. But you can definitely use a poached egg as well here.

Avocado Toast With Scrambled Eggs

Scramble two eggs as you normally would. Season them as you like, or simply sprinkle some salt and pepper over the top after you put them on the toast.

Avocado Toast With Hard Boiled Eggs

Hardboil a couple of eggs for 8-10 minutes at a full boil. Drain the boiling water and shock the eggs with a cold water bath. Then remove the shells and slice for your toast.

Avocado Toast With Fried Eggs

Fry two eggs to your liking in a skillet with a bit of oil. When the egg is done the way you like, transfer it to your prepared toast.

Extra Toppings

If you want to add more to this, here are some ideas I’ve enjoyed in the past:

Fresh herbs such as basil or parsley, or cilantro

  • Onions
  • Scallions
  • Dill
  • Cheese
  • Tomato
  • Dry spices such as thyme or garlic powder.
  • Red pepper flakes for a kick.
