Avocado is a delicious, popular fruit that can also function as a tasty addition to breakfast with eggs in the morning.
If you haven’t tried avocado toast with eggs, you are totally missing out! This delicious breakfast is so completely filling that you might not even want lunch. It’s delicious and gives you a well-balanced breakfast with whole grains, healthy fats, and lean protein. Not bad for a piece of toast!
There are so many ways to make avocado toast, and all of them are equally delicious and satisfying. But as of late, I’ve been experimenting with this easy breakfast and have found some incredible combinations that I”ll be sharing in the coming weeks. This is the first of several. It’s simple but oh-so-good.

Definitely! It will, of course, depend on your eating plan, but for general nutrition, yes, it’s healthy. The most important part of keeping this healthy is to use whole-grain bread without any added sugar. Once you have that, the avocado and egg are perfectly healthy as long as you don’t have any allergies or sensitivities to them.
Can I Eat Avocado Toast With Egg Every Day?
You can. I would keep it in moderation, though. Take your calorie count into consideration for this. Beyond that, there’s no reason not to enjoy this avocado egg toast regularly.
Is Avocado Toast Healthy For Weight Loss?
It can be if you use it properly. You must count the calories and fat grams and incorporate that into your weight loss plan as you would with any food.
Avocado Toast With Egg Calories
If you are tracking your calories, this egg avocado toast makes for a reasonable breakfast, depending on your calorie needs. Keep in mind that these calories are for both pieces of bread. You can easily cut this recipe in half to lower the calories or fat content.
Can I Use Prepared Guacamole?
If you don’t mind the flavors of guacamole on your toast, sure! Go for it! But I find that flavor-wise, it’s often better to use plain avocado mash if you add other toppings.
Preparing Your Avocado Toast For Eggs
So this may seem silly, but it’s worth mentioning. The flavor of your avocado toast will be much better if you first make basic avocado toast. What does that mean? It means you must smash the avocado onto the toast and then season it with salt and pepper. Do this before adding the egg. You are literally seasoning your avocado toast in layers.
How To Make Your Eggs For Avocado Toast With Egg
For avocado toast, you can make your eggs any way you like. Here are the ways I have tried, and they all worked out great. The only thing I didn’t do was poached eggs because I’m really bad at making them. But you can definitely use a poached egg as well here.
Avocado Toast With Scrambled Eggs
Scramble two eggs as you normally would. Season them as you like, or simply sprinkle some salt and pepper over the top after you put them on the toast.
Avocado Toast With Hard Boiled Eggs
Hardboil a couple of eggs for 8-10 minutes at a full boil. Drain the boiling water and shock the eggs with a cold water bath. Then remove the shells and slice for your toast.
Avocado Toast With Fried Eggs
Fry two eggs to your liking in a skillet with a bit of oil. When the egg is done the way you like, transfer it to your prepared toast.
Extra Toppings
If you want to add more to this, here are some ideas I’ve enjoyed in the past:
Fresh herbs such as basil or parsley, or cilantro
- Onions
- Scallions
- Dill
- Cheese
- Tomato
- Dry spices such as thyme or garlic powder.
- Red pepper flakes for a kick.

Whole grain bread – Look for 100% whole grain bread with no added sugar or preservatives.
Avocado – You want perfectly ripe avocados. Not too hard, not too soft.
Salt – Or to taste.
Ground black pepper – Or to taste.
Eggs – Prepared separately any way you’d like.

Storage
Typically, there won’t be any leftovers from this. But if there are, wrap them up tight in an airtight container and store them in the fridge. Note that the avocado may change color overnight. That doesn’t mean it’s bad.

Freezing is not recommended for this recipe.
