This easy strawberry vinaigrette recipe is perfect for strawberry season!!

There are few things I love as much as shopping for strawberries. While I love all berries in general, there’s something to be said for bringing home a package bursting with sweet, juicy, red strawberries. The possibilities seem endless.

They always bring back memories of days at the beach when I was little. My mom would take me to Drakes Bay near San Francisco, and strawberries were always on the menu. I would play in the sandy water, jumping waves and squealing every time I felt the slimy, scratchy arm of a seaweed plant stealthily wrap itself around one of my legs. My memory of being dizzy from the feeling of watching the salty water retreat out to sea again and the overwhelming joy when the water left a treasured crustacean behind for me to find is something I’ll never forget.

I would play hard and long in the summer sun, building up an appetite as only a young child can. It was always at just the right moment that my Mom called me for lunch. She seemed to have a knack for knowing when my tummy protested with its first gurgled growl.

It was then that I would go pile my plate high with a mountain of strawberries. Each heavenly, sweet bite was something I savored as if it were my last.

How Long Will This Strawberry Vinaigrette Recipe Last In The Fridge?

As with many homemade dressings, this dressing will last approximately a week in the fridge. However, readers have also frozen leftovers and have said it holds up well in the freezer. I haven’t tried it myself, but it has worked for others.

How To Use Strawberry Vinaigrette

  • Try using this as a marinade for pork or chicken.
  • It tastes great over fruit salad.
  • It looks great in a canning jar if you want to give some as a gift!
  • And, of course, it’s great over a green salad as well.

  1. We’ve started to add a salad a week to our menu and I’m really eager to try this strawberry vinagrette but was wonder what kind of salad would I make for this vinagrette. I’m not a lover of fruit in my salads but will be willing to try anything once. Hopefully you can help me out.

Karla – This goes really well with just about any green salad. I love it on spinach salad! Drop in a few walnuts or other veggies. It’s delicious!

  2. I had so many fresh organic strawberries in July when I first made this delicious vinaigrette that I froze four jars of it. I am just finishing the
last jar and I can say it is as tasty as the first fresh batch. Now knowing I can also use frozen strawberries I’ll make another batch and extend my
‘salad days’ another six weeks or so. Thank you so much.
I’m going to try and make a peach vinaigrette tomorrow.

Merrie – I would say about a week, maybe two. We always use it up too fast for it to go bad, so I can’t give an exact amount of time. Hope you enjoy it! 🙂

  10. I know this is an old post, but How would i make a smaller batch of this, say 4 servings?

    1. The Gracious Pantry says:

Michelle – If you click on the number listed in the serving size, it will pull up a slider so you can adjust the amounts in the recipe to the number of servings you want. Hope that helps!
