For those of you joining me in the upcoming No Sugar Challenge, you might already know that you are supposed to drink one, nutrient-dense smoothie per day. As you move along in the challenge, you will find that natural foods begin to taste sweeter and sweeter. You find that there really isn’t a need to sweeten everything and you begin to enjoy foods without the “sugar-bomb” effect.
This has a wonderfully light and “airy” flavor. It’s not as filling as some of the other smoothies, but it should carry you through 2 hours until your next meal just fine. This might be a good smoothie to have as a last meal of the day. That way you get some great nutrients, but you won’t have a brick in your belly just before bed. This isn’t high in protein, so pair it with a hardboiled egg white or add some unflavored protein powder and enjoy.

With this can you use frozen mango and or pineapples/ can pineapples? When making the green tea do you add sugar?
Kel – Sure, you can use frozen or canned as long as there is no sugar added. No, I did not add sugar to the tea.
Thank you for sharing. Love this recipe. Do you still have the no sugar challenge?
Cristella – Thanks! And yes I do. Just click the Challenges button up at the top. Enjoy!
I love the thought of no sugar challenge. I am looking to break my old record of 1 week.
Jason – You can do it! Shoot for 2 weeks and then a month! You’ll feel amazing!
Hi, I just made this green smoothie this AM, & we all loved it, even with all that spinach! Followed the recipe exactly, but used one cup of frozen mango chunks & added about 1 tsp of agave nectar. Don’t lecture me about that… I am not a devoted clean eater. Just happened to find this recipe on Pinterest & wanted to try it. And YES, I will add a scoop of protein powder next time, or some chia seeds.
Karen – LOL! No worries. I’m happy you enjoyed it! 😀
Hello! Found your website when researching the No Sugar Challenge… what a great resource! Perhaps I missed it, but can you tell me how many servings this smoothie makes? A whole mango, banana and the pineapple seems like a lot more than the allotted 3 pieces of fruit per day…
Jessica – The recipe makes about 3 cups. I would limit your portion to 1 cup for the challenge.
This smoothie tastes amazing, i really recommened it! I didn’t think I would like it but it’s delicious.
Lauren – Fantastic! So glad you enjoyed it!
