If you love all the different flavors of coffees and lattes available this time of year (hello gingerbread or pumpkin spice!), then I’ve got one you need to try this holiday season. This Christmas coffee (aka: nutmeg latte) is delicious and a perfect way to warm you up in the morning thanks to delicious notes of ground nutmeg and cinnamon. Especially on Christmas morning. Because we all need that one cup of coffee that makes us smile with holiday cheer.

What Kind Of Coffee Maker Should You Use To Make Christmas Coffee?

You have a few choices, but the main thing is to NOT use a machine where the spices can get down into the machine and clog it. Coffee makers that work best are anything with a paper filter, a French press, or a Moka pot.

Should You Use Regular Or Decaf Coffee?

You can use either. Caffeine won’t make a difference here. It will taste the same regardless.

Recipes To Serve With This Coffee

If you will be serving this on Christmas morning and you need a great breakfast to go with it, I can recommend pumpkin baked oatmeal with cranberries. If you want something more like French toast, this pumpkin spice French toast casserole is wonderful. If you need to feed a crowd and pancakes sound good to everyone, I recommend make a batch (or two, or three) of sheet pan pancakes. Set out a buffet of toppings and let everyone build their own stack. Any of these would go great with this Christmas coffee recipe.

About The Ingredients

Ground coffee – Or espresso.

Water – Use a good, filtered water. Something that doesn’t taste like chlorine.

Ground cinnamon – No added sugar. Just the spice.

Ground nutmeg – You can use pre-ground or freshly ground. The choice is yours. Fresh ground is a bit stronger than pre-ground.

Ground cloves

Milk – You can use any milk you prefer. I used unsweetened oat milk.

Maple syrup – Or honey.
