These chocolate chip cookies are perfect for your sweet cravings!
Far be it from me to try and ruin anybody’s eating plan. But every once in a while, it’s nice to splurge and know you haven’t destroyed your plan completely. Am I right? I mean, if you can splurge and still call it “clean”, isn’t that better than drowning yourself in a bunch of “unclean” foods?

So I got a little creative. You see, my favorite cookie in the whole wide world is a chocolate chip cookie. What’s not to love? All that melty chocolaty goodness right out of the oven with a tall glass of milk… oh boy. I’m drooling. Pardon me while I go get a napkin.
There. All better.
Now, I have to tell you that I’m particularly proud of these cookies. Why? I wasn’t sure they were going to work when I first put them in the oven. I started with the recipe I used for Clean Eating Cookie Dough a while back. It was never meant to be baked. But with a couple minor adjustments, it did just fine!
Note: You will probably want to double this recipe due to the small yield. However, if you are just baking for yourself and maybe one other person, the yield should be just fine.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES RECIPE:

Chocolate Chip Cookies

- ⅓ cup cooked oatmeal (cooked and fully cooled)
- 3 tbsp. honey

- ½ cup dark chocolate chips (I use Lilly's or EnjoyLife)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Mix everything except the chocolate chips in a food processor. You should have a nice wet, sticky dough when you're done.
- Using your spatula, scrape dough into your mixing bowl and mix in chocolate chips.
- Spoon onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes.

Would saying there are 10 servings be unrealistic? I was wanting to run the recipe through the calorie counter for recipes at about.com and it needs to know servings. I just found your site from another blog I read and have signed up. I can see I need to set aside some time to come back and read it all.
Also, do you get the grain sweetened chips at a food coop or Whole Foods or do you have to order them? I live in a pretty rural area and don’t think I’ve ever seen them at the grocery store.
thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge
Hi Billie!
I’m guessing that by 10 servings, you are referring to 10 cookies? I mean, you can really make them any size. So if you want to make 10 cookies with the recipe, then just size them accordingly. And then you would have 10 servings. I hope that makes sense.
I get the grain sweetened chips at Whole Foods (they have them in packages in the baking isle), or at a coop here in San Francisco called Rainbow Grocery where I can buy them in bulk. (Much cheaper!) You won’t find them in any regular grocery store. But man are they good!
Let me know how you like them! So glad you found my blog!
Take care,
Tiffany
OMG – these are FABULOUS. I Love love love these cookies!! The perfect thing to combat my sweet tooth 🙂
AND – they are soooo easy to make – double bonus!
Thanks Tiffany! Can’t wait for the dessert e-book 😉
I’m so glad you like them! They were so yummy. I haven’t made them since, and my son keeps asking for them. I guess I should bake up another batch!
Ok, one more comment here – my daughter INSISTED that I e-mail this recipe to her teacher… they were THAT good!!
Fantastic!
These look FABULOUS!!! Wow! Thank you for linking up! 🙂
My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by!
Have you been able to find chocolate chips that aren’t sweetened with white sugar? Any tips? I’d love to make these for my BF who is addicted to cookies.
Becky – Yes! Here is a link to the company. You’d have to contact them to see if they distribute to any local stores near you. But I believe you can also order from their web site.
(link no longer working)
Ooh! Time to investigate! Thanks!
What can you substitute the wheat pastry flour with if you have a gluten interance?? I would love to try these but I will not be able to use the recommend wheat flour.. Any suggestions.?..
Jen – My sister-in-law was just telling me about a package of gluten-free flour from Bob’s Red Mill. She bakes a lot of stuff by replacing it with that flour. You can google the company to find out if they sell in your area. It’s a mix of several gluten-free flours. She says it works well.
I wish I could be more help than that, but I’m not familiar with gluten-free cooking. So sorry.
I’m making these right now. They are baking as I type…the dough tastes good so I imagine the cookie will too. I did find the chocolate chips you were talking about at Wegmans in their natural foods/organic section. So if you live near one, you can find the cholcolate chips there!
Carrie – Thanks for sharing the link! Hope you enjoy the cookies!
These cookies are amazing! I am one of the biggest sweet tooth junkie I know and it seems to always be my downfall on eating clean but with the help of these cookies…I’m well on my way.
Thank you for sharing your gifts and passion with us.
Jamm – I’m so glad you like them! If I hadn’t given up baking until the holidays, I’d probably make a batch now. lol
These cookies are amazing! Thank you for sharing your gifts and passion with us.
Question…can you substitute walnuts instead of almonds? I didn’t know if that would work or not? Thanks for the recipe…I just started eating clean and I just love your site!
Alicia – Happy to have you as a reader! Yes, walnuts will work just as well.
Thanks so much 🙂 I made these yesterday and the kids just loved them! Im making your meatball recipe tonight 🙂 It looks great!
Alicia – The meatballs are so so yummy. You’re gonna love them! Glad you enjoyed the cookies!
These look good-I’m always looking for healthier baked goods for my kids! A quick question, i’ve seen a few of your recipes calling for cooked oatmeal. Is that just plain oatmeal made with water, then measured per the recipe?? I’ve never seen it in recipes before checking your site out 😉 Thanks so much for sharing through your wonderful site~
Jodi – Yes. Just oats and water cooked according to package directions. I will say that when I use cooked oats, it’s generally steel cut. The only time I use quick cook oats is in my protein bars (otherwise it would be like chewing hay! lol)
But yes, oats and water. That’s it!
Wow these sound great! I love finding new and healthier ways to eat the things that I love! I cannot wait to make them, I think they are going to be a huge hit with my family. We just love Cookie Recipes and I especially love when I can make something that I know is a healthier treat for them. I work with Better Recipes so I am always looking at new recipes and I think my most favorite are the ones that take something ordinary and give it a healthy twist.
Lauren – Hope you enjoy them!
Thank you so much for this! im making these for a class project in which we have to do a 5 min presentation about our selves. Im really into healthy eating and living so these cookies will be perfect!
thank you thank you thank you!
Sydney – You’re welcome! Enjoy!
cooked oatmeal in the recipe doesn’t mean you cook it and then add it, it means cooked oats right?
Heather – It means they have to be fully cooked before you add them to the recipe. I just used the oats I had made for breakfast that morning.
Sorry, just read back a few…noticed my question has been asked…making them now!!!
DYING FOR SWEETS!!
Hello there from Canada.
We have been eating clean for the past 3-4 months…100%, well except for one treat on Fridays.
I have to say, this is by far the best thing I have ever eaten, clean or not.
I really enjoy your site and visit it regularly. Thank you for being 100% clean!! Keep up the clean work.
Shari – Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a note. I appreciate the feedback and am so glad that you enjoyed my recipe and blog. Have a great day!
A couple of my ‘normal’ grocery stores carry Sunspire grain sweetened chcolate chips so people may find them if they look in the health aisle. They are $5 abag tho..so you need to make sure you want to use them. LOL
Shelly – Fabulous! I think they are becoming more and more popular, which is great!
These cookies are great! And the dough is too. I added the chocolate chips before the oats had completely cooled, so they had melted before they even hit the cookie sheet! Doubled the recipe, but could have quadrupled it!! My son is completely licking the bowl now!!
Stephanie – Stephanie – So glad you liked them! I’d had to not make them simply because I can’t stop eating them when I do! lol
