This turmeric chicken rub will keep another night of chicken from being boring!
I love the spices and aromas of Indian food. Something about them is just so comforting, healing and soothing to my soul.
I’ve been trying to incorporate more turmeric into my eating plan simply because it’s so beneficial to the body on so many levels. It’s also pretty tasty if it’s used correctly and the vibrant color is fun to play with. I needed a new way to prepare my slow cooker chicken and Indian food was sounding pretty good. Just one of those random cravings I get from time to time. They hit me out of the blue for no reason at all. But when they do, I become pretty determined to satisfy that craving. Especially when I know I can do it in a clean and healthy way.
So I got into my kitchen and started playing around with the spices in my cabinet and this is what I came up with. I rubbed it under the skin of a whole chicken and added a couple other ingredients as well (recipe coming soon), and ended up with some really delicious chicken!

Indian food is my favorite. They have mastered how to combine flavors together for an amazing meal. I’ll have to try this chicken rub out.
Hi, my name is Wendy and I am a GP stalker…..
WendyJ – LOL!!!
I used this as a marinade for thin sliced chicken by adding some olive oil and that cut some flavor so I added a sprinkle of cinnamon and cayenne before cooking. Swapped the cloves for nutmeg because that’s what I had. Was fantastic!! Thank you so much for sharing. My husband and I devoured it.
Ashley – Wonderful! I’m so happy you both enjoyed it! 🙂
This is in my crockpot now. It smells delicious!
Jennifer – I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
