Ways To Use This Honey Mustard Dressing Recipe
There are so many uses for honey mustard dressing. You can put it in everything from wraps to grain bowls. Try it in a grilled chicken salad or a quinoa and kale bowl. Use it as a sandwich spread or a marinade. Enjoy it with sweet potato fries or as a veggie dip. Mix it into pasta salad or blend it into deviled eggs. It’s also great drizzled over grilled skewers or blended into hummus. The possibilities are endless!
🍯 Pro Recipe Tips
- Taste and adjust: add more lemon juice for extra tang, more honey if you like it sweeter, or more garlic for a kick.
- If it’s too thick, stir in a splash of almond milk or water to thin it out.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
- For some extra flavor, you can roast the garlic clove before adding it.
- Like it spicy? Stir in a pinch of cayenne or a splash of hot sauce.
- Like it creamier? Add 1 tbsp. of tahini or plain unsweetened yogurt.

Recipe Note
A lot of this recipe depends on the balance between the mustard you use and the honey you use. My honey was very mild, so I had to add more than the recipe to get that nice balance the second time I made this, while the first time, the measurements were just right. I also had to add more salt the second time around. So go into this ready to adjust the amounts of each ingredient to your liking, based on which ingredients you have on hand.

Were you following me at the grocery store this week? My hubby loves honey mustard dressing on his (clean) chicken tenders. I picked up a bottle at the grocery sore, looked at the neediness and though “there’s got to be a way I can make this myself”!
This recipe was in my inbox today….perfect timing!!!!
Colleen
I just discovered grape seed oil! looks yummy!
Yay! I’m so excited for this recipe, honey mustard is a favorite of mine 🙂
I would probably try this with dijon. Honey dijon is MY favorite. And there’s a restaurant out my way that adds a bit of cayenne pepper to their honey mustard… it’s got a kick. It’s VERY good that way.
Great! I’m sure that would be tasty!
Can’t wait to make this … Honey mustard dressing is a staple in our house, so I was practically giddy when I saw you had a clean version. How long do you think it will keep in the fridge?
Probably 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. It’s pretty stable stuff.
When you say prepared yellow mustard is that one you buy in the shop in powdered form or one you have a recipe to make?
No, that’s the stuff in the bottle you buy at the store that you use for hot dogs and hamburgers.
Sounds great, can’t wait to try it!
Siunds delicious!
my husband loves honey mustard, but I refuse to buy it because it’s so terrible for you! I made this last night and put it on his salad and he loved it! Thanks so much!!
Tiffany – How awesome! Glad he enjoyed it! 🙂
Hi! I have tried this twice DELISH!!!! My family loves it and I don’t buy it anymore b/c of the ingredients, can’t pronounce them or know what they are 🙁 so I tried your recipe loved it! Then I tweaked it a little ..I love creamy bases. I added 1/2 advacado & 1/4 c water another tsp mustard to keep it yellow 🙂
Sherry – Fantastic! I might have to try it your way. Yum!
This is great, I have been trying to find a store bought brand of honey mustard that doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients and this is a perfect alternative!! Thank you
Tracy – My pleasure!
I made this dressing tonight with almond oil! Turned out great!
Lindsay – Wonderful! Glad you liked it! 🙂
I just made this dressing for the first time – YUM! Next time, I’d hold back a bit on the vinegar though. Thanks for sharing!
Gina – My pleasure! 😀
Does this really have 699 calories, or is that a typo? Just wanted to double check!
Kelly – Yes, but that is for the entire recipe. You wouldn’t put the whole batch on your salad.
Wow! This awesome, my new favorite salad dressing.
Celeste – Awesome! Give the strawberry vinaigrette a try as well. Yummy!
Is there really 699 calories in only 1/3 of the recipe. Yikes
Amanda – Yes, but you aren’t going to pour a 1/3 cup over your salad either. And those calories are good quality calories. It makes a difference!
