Apple Pie Spice Recipe
If you have never made your own apple pie spice, you’re missing out. This stuff rocks and it’s great for so much more than just apple pie.
I don’t bake a lot of apple pies. I never have. But on the rare occasion that I do make one these days, I like to make my own apple pie spice to go in it.
How To Make Apple Pie Spice
The truth is, this is a very simple mix to make. There’s no added sugar and the flavor and aroma of the pie as it’s baking lets you know the balance of spices is just right.
I know some people like ginger in this type of spice mix, but I’m not a fan of that. So if that’s your preference, you can add about an 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. to the mix. But I always feel like that makes it more of a pumpkin pie spice, though not completely. It’s totally up to you!
