These days, Trader Joe’s Pizza Seasoning practically has a cult following. But I have heard whispers of them discontinuing it, so I thought it might be a good idea to create a copycat recipe for it. This delicious blend of spices is perfect for pizza, pasta, garlic bread, or even roasted veggies.

This copycat Trader Joe’s Pizza Seasoning combines tomato powder, garlic, onion, oregano, and basil into a savory blend you can sprinkle on pizza, pasta, garlic bread, and more. Just mix pantry spices, store in a jar, and enjoy that authentic pizza flavor anytime.
Why You’ll Love This Pizza Seasoning
- It’s got that copycat flavor of the Trader Joe’s favorite.
- It’s quick and easy to make with spices you probably already have.
- It saves money to make your own.
- You can use it for so much more than just pizza!

How to Make Trader Joe’s Pizza Seasoning (Step-by-Step)
- Place the fennel seeds in a mortar and pestle and grind until they are mostly crushed. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

- Tip: Make smaller batches so spices stay fresh.
Variations & Substitutions
- Add grated Parmesan for cheesy flavor (but then store it in the fridge)
- Use smoked paprika for depth

FAQs
Is This Really Like Trader Joe’s Pizza Seasoning?
It’s not exact, but it’s very close in flavor thanks to tomato powder and Italian herbs.
Where Do I Buy Tomato Powder?
Tomato powder is easily found in the States. If you can’t find it locally, Amazon has it for very reasonable prices. Just be sure to read the ingredients because they are not all the same. Look for one with just tomatoes and nothing else.
Can I Make It Without Tomato Powder?
Yes, but it won’t taste the same. If you want to try it, you can add a little extra paprika and other dried herbs. But it will definitely change the flavor.

I’ll have to try this copycat. However the ingredients on the Trader Joe seasoning specifically list coriander. You have none in your recipe. Might be why it’s off.
Kent – Possibly. I’ll add some and see. Thanks!
