Honey mustard can be traced back to a cookbook written in the fourth or fifth century. It was used as a basting sauce for roasted boar.

About The Ingredients

Chicken tenderloins – Opt for bigger, juicier chicken tenders.

Extra virgin olive oil – Or use any oil you are most comfortable using.

Honey – Any type of honey you want to use is fine.

Dijon mustard – No sugar added.

Apple cider vinegar – I used the stuff “with the mother.”

Paprika

Garlic powder – Or garlic granules.

Ground mustard powder

Salt and pepper – To taste at serving.

How To Make Chicken Tenders With Honey Mustard

Collect and measure all your ingredients.

Marinating chicken tenders in marinade in a mixing bowl.

Combine all marinade ingredients into a medium-sized bowl. Add chicken tenders and toss to coat. Marinate for 5 minutes. You can marinate this for a longer time if you want a stronger flavor.

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add in the chicken tenders. Cook on each side for 3 – 4 minutes or until fully cooked through.  Be sure to cook the tenders on medium heat. Cooking on high heat will cause the honey in the marinade to burn.

Do not pour the leftover marinade into the skillet. It will burn. Serve and enjoy.

Storage

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days in the fridge.

Freezing

If wrapped well, these will freeze just fine for up to 4 months.

Reheating

Reheat in an oven, on a stovetop, or in a microwave.

  • ½ tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

Marinade Ingredients

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. ground mustard powder
  • salt and pepper
