How to make perfect baked potatoes in your Instant Pot every time! Note that the timing listed works for small to medium potatoes. For larger potatoes, set the timer to 35 minutes. Also, be sure your potatoes are pretty much the same size so they all cook evenly.

  • 3 medium russet potatoes
  • 1 cup water

  1. Set up your Instant pot where it will be cooking and remove the lid.

    Step one is to set up your Instant Pot.
  2. Place your trivet inside the IP insert.

    Step two is to put your trivet inside the IP insert.
  3. Place your cleaned potatoes on the trivet.

    Step three is to place your potatoes on the trivet.
  4. Add the water.

    Step four for making these Instant Pot Baked Potatoes is to add water to the IP insert.
  5. Close the lid and the vent. Adjust pressure to high. Press the "Manual" button and adjust time to 25 minutes. When done, allow for at least a 10 minutes natural release. Open the vent, making sure to keep your hands out of the way of the escaping steam.

    Step five is to secure the lid on your IP and close the vent. Then set the time and pressure according to the chart.
  6. When the steam is completely released, remove the lid.

    Step six is to do a quick release and remove the lid from your IP.
  7. You'll now have perfectly cooked, baked potatoes!

    Step sever is to serve the potatoes with a pat of butter if you like.
