I am so totally excited for this challenge. I blew it the last time *sigh* But I am rarin’ to go. I may even start today ;)

I think for my Mini Challenge, I’m going to roll out of bed and do 5 Sun Salutations every morning – in addition to my other fitness. This is something I’ve been *thinking* about doing for a looooong time. And, I’m just procrastinating it for absolutely no good reason. No more. Now I’m accountable!

So, tomorrow is my “running day.” I’m going to roll out of bed, do 5 Sun Salutations, and then go for my run.

Tiffany – thank you so much for doing these… it’s inspirational, and I feel so supported – it’s nice to have a community of like-minds :)

I’m in! I’ve been at it for almost a week already and I’m feeling motivated to keep going!!

Jenn – You rock!!! That is so awesome! Please let me know how that Sun Salutation goes! :)

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Cori – Fabulous!!! Go, go, go!!!!

  • Yvonne

I would love to see a post on the results people have had from the previous no sugar challenges … it would be very motivational for everyone!

I am going to try a lot harder to stay on track this time … my 8 year old started in the last challenge and has been doing very well … he turns down everything and checks all the labels – if he can do it, I should be able to do it too!!

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Yvonne – Ask and you shall receive. I’ll work on it! And yes, OF COURSE you can do it! You can do anything you make your mind up to do!

  • Tracy

I fell off the wagon two weeks ago. I’m in Alabama where the tornadoes hit, thankfully my family is okay (we only lost power for 4 days), but w/ no way to cook (except on the grill) I relaxed the eats and ate some sugary snacks. However, I got back on track Monday and plan to stay here! The amazing way I felt in the previous months w/out sugar in my diet is enough motivation to convince me there’s no room in my body for sugar.

Tracy – That’s fabulous!! It’s an amazing difference for sure! And don’t worry about your slip up. That’s life. It happens. You’re back on track and that’s all that matters! Good for you!

    I am ready!

I have been playing with the recipes and learning how to convert my 4 meals a day into 6.

my toddler and I made the banana peanut butter shake this morning and it was AMAZING…

this might not be as hard as I think with meals/snacks like that one.

I have to tell you, I LOVE your recipes and how you get your son involved in the kitchen. I do that a lot too. I work full time and its one way to hang out with him on a busy night.

After watching the no sugar challenges since round 1, I’m joining in for round 4. Lately my sugar cravings are through the roof- no matter how much sugar I eat. I know it’s making me sluggish and miserable. Back to clean eating!! I feel so much better when I do. My husband might even get on board with it- he’s always tired, too, and attributes a lot of it to a poor diet. I think he’s ready for a change. :)

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Cindy – That’s great! It’s such a wonderful thing to get your kids in the kitchen with you. Good for you! And yes, you CAN do this!!

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Eileen – That’s wonderful! Welcome! And yes, sugar creates a vicious circle. The more you eat, the more you crave. So good for you for taking charge! Go girl!

  • Cindy

I am a huge sugar junkie and really need to detox. I am in 100% for this challenge.

I’m so glad a friend suggested this!

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

    Cindy – That’s wonderful! Welcome! :)

  • Cindy

I have a question about sugar free gum. It does contain aspartame and I was wondering if I should give it up as well as part of the “no sugar challenge”. I generally chew 1 to 2 pieces per day.

    Your thoughts are appreciated!

I know aspartame is “crap” for your body. I think I may add giving it up completely to the challenge as well.

    thanks,
    Cindy

Cindy – Give it up girlfriend! No artificial sweeteners allowed. Plus, they are not considered clean anyway. Just put down the gum and step away! ;)

  • Teresa

When does the new challenge start? I only made it through a few days last time – I’ve been fighting almost daily migraines for over a month now and my diet and exercise have both gone to pot. I keep reaching for sweets when I’m in pain even though I know it makes me feel even worse in the long run. I was just telling myself earlier today that I need to get back off the sugar – so I’m in!

  • Teresa

Oh, also wanted to ask in reference to the sugar free gum question – any recommendation on a clean breath mint? I can’t chew gum, but there are times when a mint would really come in handy, and I haven’t been able to find any that don’t have artificial junk in them.

  • Teresa

Oops – just found where it started Sunday – is it too late to join in?

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Teresa – Hope on the wagon now!!! This is only day 3, so you haven’t missed much. Welcome aboard!

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Teresa – Sorry, no. I don’t think there is a clean mint. Hmmmm….. wonder if I could come up with a recipe….

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Teresa – Absolutely not! Start now! :)

  • Cindy

So, 6 days into the challenge and I’ve lost 3 lbs doing absolutely nothing except cutting out sugar. This is pretty impressive since I’m already at a healthy BMI. I think that gum may have been keeping me craving sugar.

I had dinner with a friend last night and while she ate dessert, I thought about how much better I felt without sugar. She tried to get me to eat it, but for the first time in my life, I was able to resist really without much effort. We even went to the movies after and I wasn’t tempted at all to gorge myself on candy!

  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com The Gracious Pantry

Cindy – That is a very common reaction and I’m so glad that happened for you!! Welcome to the wonderful world of no sugar!! Congrats!!

  • Stacey K

My students have “cooking” as part of our class, and we’ve been making stuff for a fund-raising bake sale. I have to admit to “sampling” and I’ve been feeling like CRAPOLA because of it! TOO MUCH SUGAR! I need to DETOX! So glad another challenge is starting soon. YAY!

  • Anonymous

Stacey – Yay! Happy to have you joining us!

  • Anonymous

MaryBeth – Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying our challenge! I highly recommend you go to Gales site and ask her directly. I’m not a trainer, so I can’t advise you. Thanks!
