Marsha – It can, but it’s not an automatic. You have to eat clean AND gluten free.

Well I have just found this site, I have been working on this way of eating for a few months now, not knowing that is has a name! how funny, I am so excited about seeing all your great ideas for me to try. and I hope to continue my weight lost journey. I think that is is going to be a wonderful lifetime change for me, hope that I can bring my husband along, because now we mostly eat differently, so that makes cooking two different meals. My main problem that I am going to have is no health food stores with in 100′s of miles, is there a good site to buy things on-line? 16 lbs down for me. Thanks

Leslie – Congrats on the 16 lbs! That’s wonderful! The best place I’ve found for online purchases is amazon.com. They seem to have everything.

    Enjoy the recipes!

Hello, I am new to your site. Do you have gluten free recipes?

  • Anonymous

Jennifer – I have a gluten free category, and many of my recipes are gluten free by default. But I do not cook that way specifically, and often do not know if it is safe to categorize a recipe as such. So there may be several recipes that are gluten free, but are not listed in the gluten free category. I really know nothing about gluten free cooking, so it’s hard for me to offer a category like this. Hopefully some of the recipes there will help.

Love your website! Our family tries to eat clean but it is a struggle to find kid friendly recipes so I am thrilled to have found your site. We are planning on making some of your recipes this weekend and cannot wait to incorporate more into our eating plan.

Emalym – That’s wonderful! Let me know how they turn out for you!

  • Laurafine

Love this website! I’m wondering if you can help me. I make this great and SO easy minestrone soup and is loads of veggies and whatever I have in my fridge/freezer. The program is that is calls for KNORRS vegetable soup mix which is loaded with not good stuff! I’m wondering if you have a powered veggie base I could use instead of the packaged stuff

Laurafine – If you can find it, I recommend the Rapunzel brand veggie stock. Clean and fantastic flavor. I get mine at Whole Foods.

    Hi Tiffany.
I came across this web site while I was searching Chia seeds.
I have been trying to eat a healthier breakfast.
I am 54 years old and I work for the telephone company in Toronto. I have a Bran muffin everyday ( it keeps me regular) and a coffee at work,
So, I bought some quaker Oats cerial and have added a couple table spoons of Hemp seeds to it. they say this is very good for you, much like the Chia seeds.
Hemp seeds are treated more like sesame seeds. Chia seeds absorb the liquid they are put into, so , to me anyway they are a little more trouble.
Anyway, I thought I tell you how I got here that I think you sight is very good and seem very real.
    thanks for having me!!!

Chris – Thank you, and welcome to my blog!

Dana – Yes, it’s clean if you make it in a bread machine. My best suggestion is to look for one that has a pan that is actually shaped like a loaf instead of those strange, square ones that give you a “block” of bread.

I visited Hanalei Bay, in Hawaii last summer. While there I found a “veggie” sandwich stand. They had something they called “TUNO” a veggie version of tuna. They served it in a Kale wrap and it was delicious. I have had trouble finding a recipe for this, have you heard of this? I tried making one with Collard Green leaves, filled with cooked lentils, quinoa, black beans and shredded cabbage, added some spices and it was pretty good, but would love to see what you would do with this idea.
    Thanks!, Mary Jarvis

mjbeads – No! I’ve never heard of it! I’ll look into it though!

Mindy – No, they are not clean. A plant can be grown without chemicals, but if it is processed into something “unnatural”, it is still not clean. Clean eating is all about avoiding unprocessed ingredients. Always ask yourself if you would buy an ingredient individually to cook with in your own kitchen. That will often help. I don’t know of any stores that sell evaporated cane juice, organic or otherwise. It’s a good rule of thumb to follow when shopping.

Pumpkinluv – Thank you so much! You’re awesome!!

Mindy – If you want to provide that for your children, then give them the one your purchased on special occasions. I have not yet found a lollipop that is considered clean. I’m not even sure it’s possible to make one. So just find the healthiest you can find and give it to them in moderation. As long as the majority of their diets are healthy, the occasional treat will certainly not hurt them.
