Clean Eating Vision Boards

Back when “The Secret” was the latest and greatest thing, I got all caught up in the idea of doing a vision board. I decorated my board with all sorts of elaborate images of huge houses, fancy cars and lots of very expensive things. I even wrote out a check to myself for 10 million dollars! I was aiming for the big time and I didn’t want to leave any stone unturned. Ha!

Did I ever get any of it?

Of course not. But at least I know why.

It was just grandiose dreaming. It didn’t actually feel like the goals displayed on that board were attainable. And of course, if you don’t believe in your own dreams, there’s no way on this green earth your dreams will ever come true!

A few years have passed since I made that board and recently, I revisited the idea of making another board (pictured above). But this time, I did it right. I threw those seemingly unattainable goals out the window and started focusing on the things I knew I could achieve. A nice, but more moderate house. A fit body. The goal of simply being happy. Oh! And let’s not forget my name up there with the RD (registered dietitian) designation after it.

HOW TO DO IT

You see, the intent of a vision board is to help you focus on your goals. To be a visual reminder of the things you want and are working towards in your life. The idea being that if you visualize something, you can achieve it! And I believe that to be true with all my heart and soul.

THE CONTEST

So I’m going to stray a bit from the usual blog posts around here and run a contest that has absolutely nothing to do with a recipe or clean ingredient! *Gasp!*

THE PRIZE

In the interest of helping you achieve the goals you are working so hard for, the winner will receive Tosca Reno’s, The Eat-Clean Diet Workout Journal. It’s a wonderful journal that will be a very useful tool in helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.

HOW TO ENTER

Simply create your vision board, take a photo of it and then go post your photo to my flickr.com group here. On August 1, 2011 I will choose a winner at random. This is not based on the contents of your board or how elaborate you make it. The idea is simply to make one.

OTHER RULES AND NOTES

  1. I regret that I cannot accept entries via email or as postings on Facebook. All submissions must be through flickr.com.
  2. No entries after 10pm PST, August 1, 2011. Winner announced August 2, 2011 in this post.
  3. One entry per person.
  4. NO NUDITY OR NON-FAMILY FRIENDLY IMAGES WILL BE ALLOWED! I won’t judge if your goals involve something of that nature, but please keep in mind that this is a family friendly contest. Do not post an image you wouldn’t want a 5 year old to see. Please use good judgement.
  5. U.S. residents only please. I love my Canadian fans as well as those from other countries. But since I am paying for shipping out of my own pocket, I need to keep it affordable.
