Blog Disclosure
Dear Readers,
The FTC has instated new regulations that require all bloggers to disclose how they earn money on their blog.
While this kind of red tape seems ridiculous at first, I believe it will actually work in our favor in the long run. I mean think about it. If you know how somebody is making money, not only will you feel more comfortable visiting that blog, but you will also know that that blog has rules set in place that are keeping the respective blogger honest.
Honesty on the internet. Can you imagine? I think I just got a chill… Oooh!! A goose pimple! It was a chill!
Okay, okay. Let’s get to the honesty part.
This is how I make my money:
- ~ The paid ads you see on the right.
- ~ Affiliate links with Amazon.com.
- ~ Future plans include ebooks, but that’s a ways off.
Free stuff.
To date, I haven’t gotten any free stuff. (Was it something I said?) But if and when that happens, I will be sure to mention that I got it for free when I blog about it…. IF I blog about it. The truth is, I won’t blog about it unless I love it and I think that you might love it too.
Being paid for positive blog posts.
Sorry. That’s not what my blog is about. It’s just not ethical in my mind. I will never accept pay in return for a positive blog post. If I don’t like something, I just won’t blog about it. If I do like something, you won’t have to pay me to get me to talk about it (Just ask my husband!).
So why do you care about any of this?
Folks, this is (almost) 2010. It’s a horrible economy. We all have to make money somehow to support ourselves and our families. I’m not trying to rip anybody off, I’m actually honest to a fault. So you can trust in the fact that nothing on my blog is a scam to get your money. There. Now doesn’t that make you feel better?
So that’s my blog disclosure in a nutshell. If you feel inclined to make a purchase, rest assured the money will go towards continuing and supporting this blog, first and foremost. Anything left over goes to buying the food you see in all those photos I post here, which in turn, feeds my family.
There. See?? Didn’t I tell you I was an honest girl?
Now go print and enjoy some of my recipes.
